Burial and Cremation Vaults

Burial and Cremation Vault Options

In most areas of the country, state or local laws do not require that you buy a container to surround the casket in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that they have such a container so that the grave will not sink. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements. In many cases, the question of whether a cremation urn vault is required depends on the guidelines of the cemetery. While greens, tent and wooden chairs are included in casket burial vault pricing, there is an additional charge of $288 for the cremations.

The purpose of an urn vault is to provide protection against natural elements that may affect the composition of a urn. A growing number of cemeteries are beginning to insist on the use of urn vaults because of their strength and their ability to provide structural integrity, thus preventing the grave from settling, and eventually, concaving.
