Life Story for Janet Marie Minnich

Janet Marie Minnich
JANET MARIE MINNICH, 90 years of Delta, PA died on Thursday, August 16, 2018 in Manor Care, Dallastown. Born on September 14, 1927 in York Co., she was one of three children born to the late Renal and Pauline (Smith) Poteet.

After graduating from the former Lower Chanceford High School, Janet went to work at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford Co., MD followed by working in the office for the former Edgecomb Steel at the York location. In the 1960’s she established a manufacturing company making cigars known as the former Central Cigar Company in Red Lion. Janet was quite proud of her business where she gave a personal touch in all aspects including working as the business manager, bookkeeper, secretary, handled customer service issues and personally knew each and every customer.

A longtime member of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Janet helped with the annual turkey suppers. Cherished, she enjoyed playing cards and spending time with each and every friend. Admired by her family, Janet was a devoted mother and homemaker. Her family remarked that she was a hard worker in both her business and personal life. Janet was a "play by ear" musician playing the piano and organ for her own enjoyment. By far, her sons were the focus of her life and were the upmost important part.

She is survived by:
Three sons-

Todd Minnich and his wife, Edwina of Delta, PA
Thomas Minnich of Delta, PA

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Barnett and brother, Edwin Poteet.
