Venetta M. Young nee Burkhead, age 89. Crete resident formerly of Dowagiac, MI Park Forest and Baltimore, MD. Passed away peacefully Sunday October 14, 2018. Wife of 58 years to the late Herbert R. Young, Jr. Mother of Bill (Barb) Young, Jane (Eddie Zarlengo) Paterimos, and Sandra (Russ) Bahlenhorst. Grandmother of 15. Great grandmother of 2. Great great grandmother of 1. Daughter of the late Anna nee Collison and Harry Burkhead. Sister of five predeceased brothers and sisters. Animal lover and volunteered at the South Suburban Humane Society Second Chance Resale Shop.
Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14th St (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Friday October 19th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Committal services Tuesday October 23rd 11:00 AM at St Paul Methodist Church Cemetery, Pylesville, MD. Reverend Melissa McDade will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Venetta’s name to the South Suburban Humane Society, P.O. Box 744, Chicago Heights, IL, 60411 or Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Avenue, Munster, IN, 46321-4032 would be appreciated by the Young family.
